What Teams Build On Algorand Nodes

Where a private, uncapped endpoint beats a shared RPC pool.

High-Frequency DeFi Operations

Power decentralized exchanges and lending protocols with hardware tuned for Algorand throughput. Dedicated CPU, RAM, and NVMe I/O keep reads and submissions stable through volatility, so strategies that break on shared throttling stay responsive.

NFT Marketplace

Support large NFT mints and high-volume trading with nodes configured for Algorand Standard Asset operations. A dedicated node keeps reads steady through mint storms and retry spikes that knock out shared endpoints.

Participation Node Operations

Run participation nodes with steady uptime and connectivity on hardware tuned to stay synchronized with the network. Single-tenant isolation and IPMI recovery keep your online accounts voting in consensus without missed rounds.

Enterprise Payment Solutions

Process high transaction volumes with consistent performance on dedicated nodes. Reserved CPU, RAM, and NVMe keep settlement latency predictable when payment traffic spikes, so throughput stays steady under load.

Algorand Standard Asset (ASA) Issuance

Token creation, transfers, and management run without bottlenecks on isolated hardware. Dedicated capacity keeps asset issuance and reconciliation jobs steady even under heavy concurrent load.

Smart Contracts

Deploy Algorand smart contracts with predictable performance for TEAL and PyTeal programs regardless of network conditions. Isolated CPU and memory keep contract execution and simulation calls consistent for production workloads.

From Algorand To Private Endpoint In 3 Steps

Pick a node, we provision dedicated bare metal, you get a private, snapshot-ready RPC URL.

  1. 01

    Pick Your Algorand Node

Choose full, archival, or participation. Full and archival serve the algod and Indexer REST APIs; tell us the region closest to your users.

  2. 02

    We Provision Bare Metal

Your single-tenant go-algorand (algod) node deploys on NVMe and fast-catchups to the latest round, so you skip the long ledger sync.

  3. 03

    Get Your Private Endpoint

Receive a dedicated algod REST endpoint with unlimited requests and zero rate limits, private behind IP allowlisting and DDoS protection.

Put Your Node Where Milliseconds Are Won

RPC latency is mostly a function of distance. A dedicated node lets you choose the exact region, so you sit next to the traffic that matters instead of fighting for routing on a shared, far-away endpoint.

Place It Where Your Users Are

Deploy across 20+ Tier III locations in the US, EU, Asia, and Australia. Put your Algorand node in the region your traffic actually comes from, not wherever a shared pool happens to route you.

Cut The Round Trips

RPC latency is mostly physical distance. Running in the same region as your users and the Algorand network's peers shaves the round-trips a far-away, shared endpoint can never give back, which is what high-frequency reads and transaction submission live or die on.

Multi-Region By Design

Run a primary node plus regional read replicas for fast reads everywhere and built-in redundancy. Split public read endpoints from private admin, debug, and trace endpoints.

Need a node within a target latency budget of a specific region or venue? Tell us the endpoint and we'll recommend the closest facility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Chain IDs, clients, archive data, getLogs limits, and why dedicated beats compute-unit billing.

What is a dedicated Algorand node server?

A dedicated Algorand node server provides exclusive hardware resources optimized specifically for Algorand blockchain operations. Unlike shared solutions, our isolated environment delivers superior performance, enhanced security, and complete customization capabilities for professional blockchain applications requiring reliable infrastructure.

Why should I use a dedicated server for running an Algorand node?

Algorand participation and RPC nodes require a high level of hardware support because of the computational and data storage requirements. Dedicated servers come preconfigured with hardware that is a right fit for running Algorand software, so you get the best node uptime and processing capability, with the option to upgrade as workload grows. You also get full control over security: custom firewall rules to allow or block ports, and ACL changes to manage user roles and access.

What are the hardware requirements for setting up a dedicated Algorand node server?

For optimal performance and stability, an Algorand node typically needs a high-performance multi-core CPU for block processing and transaction validation, a minimum of 64 GB of RAM for smooth operation and data caching, fast and ample storage (we recommend 2 x 3.84 TB NVMe enterprise drives) for the rapidly expanding ledger, and a reliable high-speed connection with at least 10 Gbps upload for block propagation and synchronization.

How do I set up an Algorand node?

We suggest 16 cores or more (AMD EPYC preferred), 256 GB ECC DDR4, a minimum 2 TB NVMe SSD for ledger data, a 1 Gbps to 100 Gbps link, and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Download the latest go-algorand release from the Algorand Developer Portal, edit config.json to set the node type and network, install the software, then use the goal command-line tool to start the node and check goal node status. Use goal node catchup for fast-catchup sync, and goal node update to stay current.

How do I query an Algorand node, and what API does it expose?

Algorand nodes expose a REST API, not Ethereum-style JSON-RPC. The algod daemon serves live node endpoints such as GET /v2/status, GET /v2/accounts/{address}, GET /v2/blocks/{round}, and POST /v2/transactions for submitting signed transactions. For historical search across accounts, assets, applications, and transactions, run the Algorand Indexer, which provides its own REST API backed by PostgreSQL. The official algosdk (JavaScript) and py-algorand-sdk (Python) wrap both APIs.

Can I run an Algorand participation (validator) node?

Yes. Algorand has no Ethereum-style staking validator: consensus is run by participation nodes. You register a participation key with goal account addpartkey and bring the account online, after which it proposes and votes in Pure Proof-of-Stake consensus. We provision dedicated hardware tuned to keep the node synchronized with the network, with IPMI and KVM for fast recovery, so your online accounts stay in consensus without missed rounds.

Do you offer a managed Algorand node setup?

Yes. If you are not ready to manage your Algorand node servers in-house, we offer fully managed Algorand RPC and participation nodes with pre-configured enterprise hardware, geo-optimized deployment options, 24/7 support from Algorand-specialized engineers, and SLA-backed uptime guarantees with real-time monitoring.

Why use RedSwitches for Algorand API access?

RedSwitches provides dedicated Algorand RPC nodes engineered for peak performance and reliability. You benefit from zero rate limits, low-latency response times, and 24/7 availability, ensuring uninterrupted operation for your applications. Our infrastructure is optimized to handle high-volume API workloads, delivering the consistent performance essential for DeFi platforms, NFT marketplaces, and automated trading bots, all backed by support via phone or email.

Do you charge per request or per compute unit?

No. Unlike shared RPC providers that bill per "compute unit" and throttle you past a quota, a dedicated node is a flat monthly price with unlimited requests and zero overages. One node equals all the throughput your hardware can serve. That makes budgeting predictable and removes the surprise bills that come with usage-based RPC pricing.

How is this different from a shared RPC endpoint?

Shared RPC pools serve thousands of customers from pooled infrastructure, so you inherit rate limits, noisy-neighbor latency, and compute-unit billing. A RedSwitches node runs on single-tenant bare metal that is yours alone: reserved CPU, RAM, and NVMe, a dedicated 10/25 Gbps port, and a private endpoint you control. Performance tracks your hardware, not another tenant's traffic.

Do I have to sync the node myself, or wait days for it?

No. We provision from current snapshots so your node is live in hours rather than syncing from genesis for days. You can run it yourself with full root access, or choose our fully managed option where our engineers handle the sync, updates, and monitoring. Either way you receive a working private endpoint, not an empty server.

Can I deploy close to a specific region or sequencer?

Yes. With 20+ Tier III locations across the US, EU, Asia, and Australia you can place your node in the same region as your users or a chain's sequencer to cut round-trip latency. Tell us your target region and we will recommend the closest facility. You can also run multi-region nodes for redundancy and split read and write endpoints.
